New Bern Heart Ball

Leadership

A Message from our Heart Ball Chair

Thank you for your interest in joining us to celebrate the accomplishments of the American Heart Association (AHA) and for recognizing the benefits that the AHA provides to our community. Your generous gifts and participation in the Heart Ball afford the AHA opportunity to further its mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. By funding research, offering education and providing advocacy, the AHA makes a difference right here in our community. Our program this year will feature “Stories from the Heart;” examples of local heroes who fight heart disease and stroke every day. Please join us on Saturday, February 23 to listen to their stories, honor their accomplishments and share their commitment to the elimination of these diseases.

The 2020 goals of the AHA are to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans and to reduce the death rate from heart attacks and stokes by 20%. To accomplish these ambitious goals, we must have the support of everyone. Cardiac disease and strokes have no boundaries and afflict all segments of our population, regardless of age, race, sex, or ethnic origin. In North Carolina, heart disease is the leading cause of death in women and the sixth (6th) leading cause of death in children under the age of 15!

On behalf of the 2013 Heart Society Executive Committee and myself, we would love for you to join us and thank you for your interest. The venue is beautiful; the food will be great and the fellowship will be priceless.

I hope to see you there.

A Message from the American Heart Association CEO

for position only

Together we are changing the way the world thinks about health and life. We’re transforming attitudes and behaviors, so people everywhere can experience the best possible health–today and for the rest of their lives … from generation to generation. Through research, education and advocacy, we are making an extraordinary impact … changing and saving lives — reducing disease, disability and death. The work that we’re doing … that all of YOU are doing … is leading to real, lasting change.

While there is much work ahead, we are in this together — for the lives of those we love. Thank you again for your generous support and unwavering commitment to our mission. You are making an impact on your community, on our nation and on the world.
